The Life of VERNA FLO DAKOVICH
Verna Dakovich, 84, died Monday, December 15, 2008 at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, December 19, 2008 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Verna was born July 4, 1924 in Floyd County, Iowa. She moved to Des Moines in 1942 and had worked for Look Magazine and the Traffic Department of the City of Des Moines. Besides being an excellent homemaker and mother, Verna enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing and going to Prairie Meadows.
Survivors include her son, Terry Dakovich of Eagan, MN; daughter, Lucinda (Brandon "Bob") Pounds of Clive; grandchildren: Shawn Dakovich, Jodi (Dave) Van Rossum, Chad (Reeve) Swertfager; great grandchildren: Shawn Dakovich, Jr., Jordan Lumley, Kendall Swertfager, and Kyler Swertfager. Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Milenko "Doc" Dakovich and two brothers.
Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, Thursday at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association
