The Life of MYRTLE LENORA LAKE

Myrtle Lenora Lake passed away Friday, October 1, 2010, at The Trinity Center. Graveside services will be 12 p.m., Monday, October 4, 2010, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, preceding the service. Myrtle was born November 21, 1917, to Carl and Violet (Byers) Cave. She had lived in Des Moines for 90 years. She was a graduate of North High School. Myrtle worked for A.C. Ice Cream’s and for Merle Norman Cosmetics. She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert S. Lake; and three brothers, Roger Cave of San Jose, California, Russell Gaudineer of Laguna Hills, California, and James Cave of Des Moines, Iowa. She is survived by her son, Larry H. Lake (Carol) of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Steven J. Lake of Des Moines, and Sally Mitchell (Todd) of Windsor Heights, Iowa, and a great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park Presbyterian Church of The Trinity Center at Luther Park in loving memory of Myrtle Lenora Lake.
