The Life of GLENN THOMAS LEACH
Tom Leach, 73, died on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Mercy Hospice Johnston from cancer. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Tom was born January 6, 1934 to Glenn and Ruth Leach in Urbandale. He served in the Army during the Korean War and retired from Rock Island Mill Work as a manager. Tom was a long time member of Union Park Baptist Church and then, First Federated Church. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria Leach; son, Gary (Sharon) Leach; grandsons, Jordan Lee and Garret Leach; sisters, Dolores Lounsberry, Betty (Walter) Lienemann, and Wanda (Lee) Borg; brother, Dan (Dee) Leach; and a host of other family and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Bonnie Lee.
Visitation will be held on 3-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to First Federated Church Children’s Ministry or Mercy Hospice Johnston.
