The Life of STEVEN DOUGLAS DUFFERT
Steven Duffert, 60, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2009. He was born August 8, 1948 in Des Moines. His parents are the late Richard and Ann Eleanor (McGowan) Lazear. Steve served in the U.S. Army. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Steve enjoyed shooting sporting clays, skeet shooting, was a gun collector and a member of the Pioneer Gun Club. Steve is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Hung "Homer" (Shelley) Duffert, Marina Duffert, Mike (Sara) Duffert and Michelle Duffert; grandchildren, Aimeé, Dominic, Owen and Derek; great grandchildren, Holden and Ripley; and his siblings, Nora Glassman, Martin Lazear and William Lazear. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery
