The Life of JENNIE ELIZABETH THRASHER
Jennie Elizabeth Thrasher, 89, passed away Friday, October 31, 2008 at Trinity Center at Luther Park. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jennie was born April 17, 1919, in Hocking, Iowa. She married the love of her life, Virgil Thrasher on July 19, 1941, and to this union two sons were born. Jennie was a teacher in various country schools, a homemaker and co-owner of Thrasher Hardware. She was a member of the Sheridan Park United Methodist Church. Jennie enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family.
Jennie is survived by her sons, Jim (Connie) Thrasher and Alvin (Debbie Swim) Thrasher; brother, Adam Patterson; sisters, Margaret King, Jessie Seeger, Mae "Pat" Barr and Shirley Wilson; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Thrasher; and brother, William Patterson.
