The Life of GERTRUDE MARGARET ANDERSON
Gertrude "Trudy" M. Anderson, 94, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Trinity Center at Luther Park. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2009 at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona, of which she was a member. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Trudy was born December 7, 1914 in St. Paul, MN. She worked for a book bindery on East Grand until her retirement in 1989 and also at the Iowa State Fair Museum. Trudy enjoyed bowling and was city champion in the 60's. Trudy is survived by her niece and nephew, Kay and Kirby Hanson and their family; sisters, Elsie Hanson of Lyle, MN and Bertha Richardson of Morristown, MN; brother, Willie Schmidt of Ft. Dodge, IA; and 30 additional nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Eugene Anderson; sisters, Margaret Peterson, Frieda Fincham and Ann Anderson; and brothers, Paul and Kurt Schmidt. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa and Lutheran Church of the Cross.
