The Life of SANDRA KAY ELINGS
Sandra Kay Elings, 64, died Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Freedom Point Assisted Living in Minnetonka, MN. Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday, August 23rd at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens. A visitation will be from 4-6 pm Sunday at the funeral home as well as from noon to service time on Monday.
Sandra was born January 28, 1946 in Des Moines to Carl and Alice (Laughead) West. She graduated from Lincoln High School and Drake University. After teaching elementary school she worked as a secretary for Bituminous Insurance. Sandra loved to read, enjoyed watching old movies and was an accomplished artist.
Sandra is survived by her son, Brian Elings; sisters Carol (Phil) Pittman of Oak Park, IL, Bonnie (John) Friedmeyer III of Plymouth, MN; sister-in-law Marlene (Glenn) Salley of Pleasant Prairie, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dennis H. Elings.
