Ruth Naomi Cronin went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 19, 2010.

She was born to Gus and Myrtle Schartner, August 10, 1924. Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Ruth and her husband, Lawrence, spent the last 24 years living in Clear Lake, Iowa and wintering in Edinburg, Texas. Ruth received her nursing degree from Broadlawn's School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a registered nurse for 25 years and worked at Iowa Lutheran Hospital where she retired from the intensive care/critical care unit in 1982.

The love of Ruth's life was her family. Vacationing, camping and family gatherings provided her with great enjoyment. Over the last number of years, celebrating Independence Day in Clear Lake, Iowa with her family was an annual highlight. Her caring ways, her faith and steadfast devotion to her husband of over 63 years epitomized her as an incredible woman.

She will be greatly missed by her family and many close and dear friends. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Lawrence Cronin Jr., Clear Lake, Iowa; daughters, Connie Rowley (Jim), Des Moines, Iowa; Diana Boyd (Ken), Kansas City, MO; Debbie Stoll, Vancouver, WA; her sons, Lawrence William (Bill) Cronin (Sue), Ames, Iowa; Phillip Cronin (Vickie), Johnston, Iowa; Robert Cronin (Diane), Urbandale, Iowa; and Jeff Cronin (Sheila), Urbandale, Iowa. The cards, the gifts, and the "famous" macaroni and cheese will be missed. We will, however, have the memories and mementos of a wonderful life and will cherish the time we had with her.

Ruth was a graduate of East High School and a member of the Clear Lake Iowa Senior Citizens Club. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Edinburg, Texas and previously attended Westchester Evangelical Free Church and First Assembly of God Church, both in Des Moines.
