The Life of SHIRLEY ANNE MATHENY
Shirley Anne Matheny, 85, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. She was surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born February 4, 1923 to Roy and Hazel Frederick in Earlham, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her parents. Shirley is survived by her two sons, Bob (Kaye) Matheny of Indianola; and Tim (Teresa) Matheny of Des Moines; daughter, Jennifer Matheny of Lincoln, NE. She has four grandchildren, Angie (Ryan) Ortlund, Amy (Casey) Aldridge, Tyler (Tiffany) Matheny and Andrea (fiancé, Adi Radoncic) Matheny; and nine great-grandchildren. She also had great family friends, Frank and Dora Buttrey and their seven children. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 – 7 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2009 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
