The Life of KENNETH MARION SELLS

Kenneth M. Sells, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Saylor Township, Des Moines. Funeral services will be at Epworth United Methodist Church in Des Moines on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First Street, Ankeny. Lunch will be served at the church following the interment with military rites at Highland Memory Gardens. The son of Marion and Louise (Flesher) Sells, Kenneth was born near Indianola on August 26, 1928. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1946 and enlisted in the United States Navy where he was awarded the World War II Victory Metal. He was honorably discharged. Kenneth was employed at Northwestern Bell Telephone and retired from AT&T Long Lines. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Kenneth was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church since 1946 where he was actively involved in the church with many committees and boards. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Louise Sells; brother Gary and sister Mary Adkers. Kenneth is survived by his brother William F. Sells of Pahrump, NV; sister Shirley (Larry) Starr of Indianola; grandson, Arthur Kenneth Sells son of Carl (Twila) Sells of Ankeny; granddaughter, Shawna Mae Sells daughter of Stephen (Beverly) Sells of Altoona and many nieces, nephews and friends. Memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church.
