The Life of JAMES EDWARD DEHECK
James Edward DeHeck 72, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Fleur Heights Care Center. He was a graduate of Dowling High School, attended Drake University and was employed for many years at Kinley Golf and Sports. Jim had a favorite saying “Not all Trappers Wear Fur Hats” and if you knew him well, you knew what it meant. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Des Moines; sister, Mary (Tom) Laughlin of Houston, TX; brother, Richard (Phyllis) DeHeck of Montgomery, AL and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 AM Friday at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home with a rosary beginning at 7:30 PM. The family wishes to thank the staff at Fleur Heights for their skilled care and compassion they showed James and his family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
