The Life of ALINA MARIE LYNCH
Alina Marie Lynch, 85, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 13, 2011.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2011, at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue in Des Moines, IA. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the church.
Alina was born on February 9, 1925, to Sophia and Leo Wirth in Gilbert, Iowa. She graduated from Nevada High School. She was a secretary for USF&G, Central Soya and Drake University Athletic Department, which she retired from in 1988. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and involved in several church activities. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, family and friends.
Alina was united in marriage to John C. Lynch on May 12, 1947. She is survived by her children, Paul (Marsha) Lynch of Pleasant Hill, and their children, Melissa (Luke) Shelton (great-granddaughter, Sabina), Chad, Rachel, and Michael; Greg Lynch (Barbara Kane) of Chicago, IL, and his children, Jennifer, Cara, and Daniel; Larry (Patricia) Lynch of Des Moines, and their children, Bill and Chris DenHartog (great-grandson, Dalan DenHartog and great-granddaughter, Mykayla Conary); Patty (Eldon) Krull of Ankeny, and their children, Katie and Justin; and Randy (Theresa) Lynch of Pleasant Hill, and their children, Jade, Shandra, Callie, and Trevor; as well as her sister, Irene Faust of St. Paul, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, after 59 years of marriage.
