The Life of ROBERTA MARIE MERRYFIELD
Roberta M. “Bert” Merryfield, 87, passed away May 5, 2011, at the Bright Kavanagh House. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Gardens.
Roberta was born September 6, 1923, in Ankeny, Iowa, to Cora and Ellis Lowe. She worked at Dahl’s Grocery store in the bakery area. One of Roberta’s greatest loves was to watch her sons, Rick and Joe stock car racing. She also enjoyed fishing, crafts, reading and spending time with her family.
Roberta is survived by her children, Joe Merryfield (Connie), Sherie Richey (Don), Rick Merryfield, Rock Merryfield (Mauricsa); 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla McCombs.
