The Life of MILDRED MARIE MCCLURG DAVIS
Mildred Marie McClurg Davis Des Moines On April 29, 2009, Millee slipped peacefully from this earthly life into everlasting life with her beloved Savior at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa. Millee was born July 29, 1923 in Covington, TN to Florence and Arthur. She grew up in Des Moines, where she married Frank McClurg. To that union came four children, Diane Twedt, Pamela Quick, Rosemary Moriarty and Scott McClurg. After raising four children, Millee worked for 10 years at Lutheran Hospital as a Ward Secretary. She enjoyed traveling around the United States and in other countries. She was active in Saylorville Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir and her fellowship with her Christian Friends. Millee never tired of spreading God's word and also was fond of shopping until she dropped. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Frank; her beloved daughter, Pamela; son-in-law, Paul Jon Twedt; and husbands, Howard Flatt and Clifford Davis. Millee is survived by and will me missed by her 3 children; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Saylorville Baptist Church, 6429 NW 6th Drive, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Saylorville Baptist Church in loving memory of Millee. Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens is handling arrangements.
