The Life of THOMAS ALSHOUSE

Tommy Alshouse, 61 of Des Moines, died at home on Thursday, June 14, 2007. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Iles Funeral Home - Grandview Park Chapel where the family will receive friends from noon to service time.  Burial of his cremated remains will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service.

Tommy worked as a mechanical engineer throughout his career including the last three years at Stoney Creek Inn, and was a member of New Beginnings Christian Fellowship.

Tommy is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Bill) Hobbs and grandson, Jacob Hobbs all of Des Moines; daughter, Deanna and son, Anthony Thomas of Minneapolis, Minnnesota; life companion, Dianne Slater Alshouse of Des Moines; four step-children, Juli (David) Johnson of Urbandale, James (Peggy) Flanagan of West Des Moines, Shelli (Chad) Bridges of Des Moines, and Mindi Newell of Des Moines; seven step- grandchildren; father Ralph (Shirley) Alshouse of Seymour; seven siblings, Cathe (Denny) Wilson of Montezuma, Pat (Denny) Eddy of Stuart, John (Susie) Alshouse of Bondurant, Brenda (Steve) Scott of Indianapolis, IN, Jolene (Jon) Runkel of Des Moines, Jane Arpy (Bob Moural) of Des Moines and Mike (Jenny) Alshouse of Virginia Beach, VA; and 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alshouse.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family for an education fund for his grandson, Jacob Hobbs.
