The Life of JUNE LEIFY FULTON

June Leify Fulton, 81, passed from this life on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at her home in Madrid.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at St. John''s Lutheran Church in Madrid. Committal services will take place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

June was born on June 9, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN. She was a graduate of AIB Business College. June was formerly employed in the floor covering industry and also owned a restaurant in Booneville for 5 years. She was a member of the VFW auxiliary in Madrid, the AMVETS auxiliary in Des Moines and the Legion Auxiliary in Polk City. June loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved people and made friends wherever June would go.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her three children, James C. (Cheryl) Fulton of Madrid, and Jeffrey M. (Robin) Fulton and Jana B. Shearer both of Des Moines; sister, Carole (Harold) Olsen of Altoona; four grandchildren, Christin (Nick) Catron of Madrid, Troy (Brandy) Fulton of Ankeny, Traci (David) Sonderleiter of Des Moines and Todd (Megan) Fulton of Runnells, IA; six great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Tom Olsen of Council Bluffs, IA. June was preceded in death by her mother, Sena T. (Hoversten) Andersen; and long-time companion, John Henry.

Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at Iles Funeral Homes – Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid, where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
