The Life of DOROTHY LOUISE BUFFUM

Dorothy L. Buffum, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2009.

Dorothy was born on January 10, 1919, in Boone, IA. She was the daughter of Arthur and Leone McBride Hall. Dorothy was very active in church ministry, serving as a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and deaconess. She also served others with her incredible gift of music - she sang in the church choir and played saxophone in the orchestra. She loved the Lord with all her heart first, then her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was adored and loved by all who knew her; she leaves behind her loving daughter, Carolyn Buffum, of Ankeny, IA; sister, Marjorie Hall, of Webster City, IA; grandchildren, Josh and Sierra Buffum, of Jackson, MI, and Randall and Jessica Zondervan, of Des Moines, IA; and great grandchildren, Kayleigh and Carter Buffum, of Jackson, MI, and Braedin and Audrey Zondervan, of Des Moines, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Leone McBride Hall; husband, Raymond Buffum; son, Gary Buffum; and sisters, Rosalena Yackel and Virginia Dennert.

Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2009, at Ankeny Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Ankeny Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
