The Life of HELEN ARDELL PROHASKA
Helen Prohaska, 90, passed away at her home on Sunday, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Helen was born November 14, 1919 in Spencer, IA. She worked at Swift & Co, Des Moines Public Schools, Reed's ice cream shop and Dahl's Deli. Helen loved being with her family. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, playing cards and reading.
Helen is survived by her husband, John; her son, John Prohaska Jr.; her daughters, Judi Prohaska and Sandy Powers; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her brother, Leonard Prine; and sister, Dorothy Bundy. Helen was preceded in death by an infant son.
