The Life of GARY EUGENE COZAD SR
Gary Cozad, age 68, was healed on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 when he entered the presence of the Lord after a 16-year battle with cancer fought with faith, trust, and dignity.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 16 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, IA. His funeral service will be 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the church with interment to follow at Highland Memory Garden Cemetery.
Gary was born December 10, 1941 in Des Moines to Wilma (Morris) and Howard Cozad. He was a graduate of North High School and worked in sales until his early retirement due to his health. Gary loved attending weekly Bible study as well as Lutheran Church of Hope. He enjoyed going to the Iowa Energy games, Civic Center and Iowa Speedway. He also enjoyed track and at one time was a competitive runner. He loved just spending time with his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, who trusted in the Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Walters) Cozad of Clive; and his mother, Wilma Cozad of Des Moines. He will be missed by his loving canine companion, Josh, as well as cousins and a multitude of friends and prayer warriors.
