The Life of EULA MARVEL BAUGHER

Eula M. Baugher, 94, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Bickford Cottage in West Des Moines. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 11, at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First St., Ankeny. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 12, at Ankeny Baptist Church, 2842 SW 3rd Pl., Ankeny, with interment at Highland Memory Gardens. Eula was born November 29, 1916 to Henry and Lilla Hackney in Jasper County, Iowa. She married Ray Baugher on June 23, 1935 in Putnam County, Missouri. They lived in California, Davenport, and Newton before moving to Ankeny in 1949. She was a member of the Ankeny Historical Society and the Ankeny Baptist church. One of her enjoyable jobs was when she was a waitress at the Breeze House. She loved all flowers and making quilts to show at the State Fair. Survivors include her sons, Monte (Marty) Baugher of West Des Moines, Gary (Toni) Baugher of Ankeny; grandchildren, Jill (Robert) George of West Des Moines, Tirzah (David) Pollard of Blue Springs, MO, Aaron (Jeni) Baugher of Ankeny, Joshua (Amanda) Baugher of Dallas, TX, and Andrew (Dayna) Baugher of Beaufort, SC; great grandchildren, Robbie and Alex George of West Des Moines, Brienna and Colby Baugher of Ankeny, Simon Baugher of Dallas, TX, Emily Stevens and Payton Baugher of Beaufort, SC, and Jordan and Dillon Pollard of Blue Springs, MO; siblings, Mildred Hennon and Archie Hackney of Newton; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Baugher; and siblings, Clyde, Rex, Wilbur, Marie, Imogene, and Lois.
