The Life of CORRINNE EVA JOHNSON
Corrinne Eva Johnson, 87, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. She was born January 26, 1923 in Rutland, Iowa to Helen Gould Edmond and Cleo E. Searcy.
She enjoyed her family and attending family events, reading, music, knitting and sewing.
Corrinne is survived by her daughters, Donna Bottorff, Norwalk, Iowa; Virginia Semple, Des Moines, Iowa; and Judy Weiland, McHenry, Illinois; sons, Jack, Wesley Chapel, Florida; Roger, Des Moines, Iowa; Thomas, Omaha, Nebraska; and Bradley, Lowell, Oregon; brother, Merton Searcy, Slater, Iowa; two sisters, Georgia Hammond, Santa Barbara, California; and Maxine Bechtel, Des Moines, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with the nineteenth on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Austin; son, Stephen James; sister, Carol; and brother, Chris.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to March of Dimes or American Heart Association in loving memory of Corrinne.
