The Life of HELEN LUCILLE GLUMAC

Helen Lucille Glumac, age 90 of Des Moines passed away at home on March 1, 2011. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, March 6 at 11 a.m. at the Botanical Center, 909 Robert D. Ray Drive, Des Moines, Iowa 50316. Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7 at Highland Memory Gardens in Des Moines. Helen was born on December 18, 1920 to Jean and Everett Hoyt in Goldfield, Iowa. Helen spent most of her life in Des Moines. She worked at Younkers Department Store for many years. She married the love of her life George in the Little Brown Church in the Vail. She loved to read, camp, fish and crossword puzzles were a daily event. She was a loyal wife, mother, grandmother and was very faithful to her dog, Lizzie. She is survived by her husband, George Glumac of Des Moines; daughter, Doris (Bill) Myers of Naples, Florida; granddaughter, Shelley Lynn Myers of Naples, Florida; great-grandson , Ryan Joshua Myers of Bonita Springs, Florida; sister, Grace Lindsay of Clarion, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Hoyt, Robert Hoyt, and Perry Hoyt; sisters, Iris West, Doris Keleher; and grandchild, Ryan William Myers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
