The Life of LIELA LEE HURST
Liela Lee Hurst, 72, died July 24, 2010. She was born August 3, 1937 to John and Virginia Thomas in Des Moines where she lived most of her life, except for five years where she lived in Denver, CO, Council Bluffs, and Kansas City, MO.
On October 16, 1954 she married Sam Hurst. Liela worked various jobs, most recently she had been a daycare provider for the last 15 years, prior to retirement. She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Urbandale.
She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter and is survived by her husband of 55 years, Sam; daughters, Linda Hurst and Lesa Ahrens of Des Moines; sons, Stan (Janis) Hurst of Urbandale and Sherm (Marj) of Maryland Heights, MO.; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two step-great-granchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 26, 2010 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 3510 72nd Street, Urbandale. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the church.
