The Life of JOHN THOMAS WATERS
John T. Waters, 71, formerly of Des Moines, passed away on March 26, 2009, at home in Cape Coral, FL from end stage renal disease. He will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Des Moines.
John was born in Adair County on September 23, 1937, to William and Bertha Waters, and had one brother, Gene Kluever of Atlantic, IA. He grew up in Massena, IA and moved to Des Moines in 1959 where he worked in the field of banking and finance for the next 21 years. Seventeen of those years were with Central National Bank, where he was elected Vice President. He moved to Florida in 2005.
John attended the University of Iowa and his lifelong passion was the Chicago Cubs. He hoped 2009 was going to be the Cubs' year for the World Series.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Lee Waters, daughter Cindy Waters of Urbandale, son John Waters of West Des Moines, stepsons Steve (Vicky) Wright and Scott (Theresa) Wright of Minneapolis, and stepdaughter Teri (Mark) Hansen of Urbandale. He also had 6 grandchildren, Tyler and Thomas Wright, Brandon and Kaylee Wright, and Holly and Kiersten Hansen.
He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away. John and his family would like to thank DaVita, Inc. in Des Moines and Cape Coral for the dialysis services that extended his life for so many years.>>
