The Life of AUDREY LOUISE BREWER

Audrey Brewer was born January 11, 1924, to Van and Mable Whitney in Des Moines. She married Emery Brewer on December 20, 1941. Audrey was a home typist for Dial Finance which enabled her to stay at home with her children and become a homemaker dedicated to her family. Once her children were in school, she started working at the school in the lunch room. Later, Audrey began her career with the Internal Revenue Service. After the passing of her husband in 1988, she worked at the D.O.T. and First Realty before finding her passion of operating the Lhaso Apso Kennels. She was a member of Open Bible and Assembly of God churches. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Daniel (Linda) Brewer, Donna (Gary) Walker, James (Carol) Brewer, and Jess (Joanie) Brewer; four grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and her sister, Mildred Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emery Brewer; and four brothers. Graveside services will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Audrey enjoyed her family and many dogs. She passed away at home Friday, August 12, at the age of 87.
