The Life of MARY ANN TAYLOR

Mary Ann Taylor, 72, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mary Ann was born December 15, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry and Dorothy Hackett. She lived in Des Moines most of her life and was employed in Sales and Catering with the Hyatt House and the Hotel Savory. Mary Ann enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles, playing cards with her friends and taking trips to Las Vegas. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Jim (Denise) Taylor of Waukee, Cindy (Tim) Bunten of Council Bluffs, Rob (Delinda) Taylor of Altoona, and Susan (Tracy) Westphal of Des Moines; brothers, Gene (Mary) Hackett of Des Moines and Kenneth (Evelyn) Hackett of Montezuma; grandchildren, Ed (Jen) Griffith, Becky (Tom) Smith, Jeremiah Taylor, Cody (Meghann Emery, fiancé)Taylor, Corbin Taylor, Carlee Taylor, and Kaley Kuehl; 4 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don; 4 brothers and her parents.

The family will greet friends from 5-7pm Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Mary Ann to be donated to Toys for Tots.
