The Life of MARILYN JEAN BONNEWITZ RAMSEY
Marilyn (Bonnewitz) Ramsey, 81, died Sunday, December 5, 2010, at her home in Winterset. She was born April 7, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to John Franklin and Gwendolyn Elizabeth (Ullom) Bonnewitz.
Marilyn graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1947 and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, antiques and attending flea markets. She has lived in the Des Moines area for 80 years and worked for Equitable of Iowa, the Des Moines Register, and Grandma’s Café.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, H. Richard Ramsey; children, Mark Ramsey, Kirk (Laura) Ramsey of Memphis, TN; Lisa (Butch) Ramsey-Bass, and Carolyn Ramsey; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Judi Henard of Sterling, IL. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jessica Ann Ramsey.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will visit with friends 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at the funeral home.
