Janel Denise Phipps, 58 passed away Thursday. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa at a later date.

Janel Denise Phipps, 58, Maryville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Golden Living Center, Maryville.
She was born July 18, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Virginia (Hough) Phipps. Janel was a 1969 graduate of North High School in Des Moines, where she attended Grandview College. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville in 1975 with a degree in Psychology and Sociology.
Janel had been a Human Resource Manager for Georgia Pacific retiring from Pope and Talbott here in Maryville.
She had been a member of the Highland Park Christian Church, Des Moines, a member of Soroptimist International, BPW and the Chamber of Commerce Ambassador''s Club. Janel is named on the Memorial Wall of the Joyce and Harvey White International Plaza at Northwest Missouri State Univeristy, Maryville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Phipps on March 4, 2000.
Janel is survived by her mother, Virginia Phipps, of Maryville; a brother, Craig (Linda) Phipps, McLoud, Oklahoma; a niece, Kelsey Phipps, Boston, Massachusetts and many other relatives and friends.
Janel''s body has been cremated.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm, Monday, July 12, 2010 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa at a later date.
