The Life of SAMUEL DALLAS LONG Jr.
Samuel D. Long, Jr, 75, died Friday, May 8th, 2009 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Sam was born on August 31, 1933, to Mabel and Samuel Long Sr. in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Sam served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge.
Sam is survived by his wife Betty Long, his daughter, Lorena Long; his step-daughters, Maureen Englund and Vanessa McDaniel; his sister, Blanch Hansel; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Calvary Apostolic Church, 2611 Easton Blvd, in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with family present will be one hour before the service.
Memorial Contributions may be made to his family in loving memory of Sam.
