The Life of BRIAN DEAN HALFERTY
Brian Dean Halferty, 56, died at Broadlawns Hospital on Saturday, February 12, 2011. He was born April 2, 1954, to Robert and Erdene Halferty in Des Moines.
Brian was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity and Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. He was a long time and active member of First Federated Church, and also sang with the Pride of Iowa Barbershop Quartet.
Brian worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa, and most recently owned Halferty Tax Service in Altoona.
Brian is survived by his father, Robert Halferty of Vancouver, WA; sister, Suzanne Rardin of Colorado; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011, at First Federated Church, 4801 Franklin Avenue, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Hamilton’s Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
