The Life of CATHERINE DOROTHY MODEN
Catherine Moden, 91, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Altoona Nursing Home and Rehab. She was born on August 9, 1918 in St. Mary's, IA to Francis Power and Ellen Cecelia Pickens.
Catherine was a cook with the Des Moines Public Schools and was a member of the American Legion.
She is survived by her sons, Francis (Stella) Moden and Gary (Lynette) Moden; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Mike Lagergren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; and daughter, Gail Lagergren.
Graveside Services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Ave. Friends may visit with family from 11 to 12 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Catherine.
