The Life of JOHN BREEN

Francis W. (F.B.) Breen, 82, of Johnston, IA, departed from this world to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 27, 2009.  Francis was born near Monroe on May 11, 1927 to Irvin and Alma Breen.  He served in the US Navy as a fighting seaman on the battleship USS Ozark, in World War II.

On April 16, 1954 F.B. married Elizabeth in Des Moines.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator for several companies and retired from Corell Contractors Inc.  He enjoyed Bluegrass music, hunting and animals.  F.B. had a special love for his dog, Grit.

F.B. is survived by his children, Michael Breen (Mary), Cheryl Hall (Donald), De Wayne Breen (Doreen) and Rebecca Trullinger (Gary); his eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  F.B. was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Breen, his infant son, John, his parents and his two brothers and four sisters.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 at The Bridge, 10025 NW 62nd Avenue in Johnston, IA.

Memorial contributions are suggested to either the American Lung Association or The Bridge.
