The Life of CARL RAYMOND SPEER
Carl Raymond Speer, 84, was born January 29, 1924 in Beech, Iowa, the son of Calvin and Vina (Bland) Speer. He passed away peacefully at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny on Saturday, December 6, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery where military honors will be provided.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Alice; his children, Robert Speer of Florida, Julia (Donovan) Chesnut of Des Moines, Donald (Sue) Speer of Davenport and Gary (Bobbi) Speer of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; many, many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the funeral home.
