The Life of ALVIN DEAN PARKER Jr.
Alvin Dean Parker Jr., passed away Monday, December 27, 2010, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW Ninth Street.
Alvin Dean was born November 9, 1954, to Ruth and Alvin Parker. After his father passed away he was raised by his mother and Jack Darden. Growing up he was known by his family and friends as “Butch”. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and football. In the last few years his COPD kept him from doing some of his hobbies. Alvin enjoyed family dinners at his sisters home and taking photos at family events.
Alvin is survived by his sister, Sheryl (Danny) Weckman; brothers, David Darden and John Darden; five sons, Jessie (Julie) Parker, Jeremy (Lesa) Parker, Jamie Parker, Christopher (Angel) Parker, and Joseph (Dominique) Parker; and fifteen grandchildren. Alvin was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, and his father Jack Darden.
