The Life of JANET KAY MOORE
Janet K. Moore, 44, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston after a long battle with breast cancer. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, March 19 at Ankeny Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2009, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 517 S.W. Des Moines Street, Ankeny, IA 50023.
Janet was born September 2, 1964 to Robert and Barbara Schwarz. She graduated from Ankeny High School and went to Drake University where she graduated with an accounting degree. She then earned her designation as a CPA and worked as a Controller at Delta Dental Insurance. Janet was also a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Moore of Ankeny; daughter, Kelsey McLaughlin of Ankeny; step-children, Nathan and Rachel Moore of Ankeny; parents, Barb and Jake Van Horn of Ankeny; brother, Jeff and wife Susan Schwarz of Portland, OR; step-sister, Laura Van Horn of Des Moines; step- brother, Rick and wife Deb Van Horn of CA; mother- in-law, Marlene Moore of Mason City; and sister- in-law, Christine and husband Chris, and daughter, Emily Bradford of Overland Park, KS. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Schwarz.
