The Life of GLENN L. STITZELL JR.
Glenn LaVille Stitzell, Jr. Des Moines Glenn Stitzell, Jr., 81, died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. His memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Highland Park Lutheran Church, with burial of cremated remains at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Glenn was born October 25, 1926 in Des Moines to Lorena and Glenn Stitzell, Sr. He worked as a spray painter and materials handler for John Deere until his retirement in 1987. He loved fishing at his cabin in Minnesota, and was an avid sports fan of the Cubs in the spring and summer, and the Hawkeyes in the fall and winter. He was a member of Highland Park Lutheran Church. Glenn is survived by his loving wife Wilma; his sons: Skip (Colleen), Michael (Sharry), and David Stitzell; his grandchildren: Bradley (Tamra), Chance, and Mackenzie Stitzell; his step great grandsons: Logan and Blake Hegma; and his sisters: Jeannine Pfister and Gwendolyn Stitzell. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Park Lutheran Church in loving memory of Glenn.
