The Life of ROBERTA EVELYN HEDRICK
Roberta E. Hedrick, age 83, passed from this world on Monday, September 22, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008, at Westminster Presbyterian Chruch, 4114 Allison Ave., at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
Roberta was born February 16, 1925 in Fairbury, IL, to Robert O. and Ressie Wills. She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University where she had joined Eta Chapter of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood in several different chapters in different cities, lastly of Chapter JY, Urbandale, Iowa. She was also a Daughter of the American Revolution. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Chruch.
Roberta is survived by her husband of 59 wonderful years, Curtis, of Urbandale, IA; daughter, Paula Durham, Muscatine, IA; son, Scott Hedrick, Grimes, IA; brother, Robert (Sherilyn) Wills, Henderson, NV; granddaughter, JoDee Hedrick, Grimes, IA; grandsons, Matthew Durham, Chicago, IL and Andrew Durham, Muscatine, IA; and cousin, Charles Hamilton, Maroa, IL. She has been welcomed into Heaven by her parents,; sisters, Arline (Harold) Ward, and Meryl Wills; and her niece, Edwinna Kay Ward.
Roberts''s cremains will be buried in the Reverence Garden within Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice of Johnston, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Des Moines, IA, or First Presbyterian Church, Muscatine, IA, in Roberta''s honor.
