The Life of KATHRYN DOLORES LOTT

Dolores "Dee" Lott, 83, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Village in Le Mars following complications from Alzheimer''s disease.

Kathryn Dolores Lott was born on March 16, 1925 at Milo, Iowa, the daughter of Rev. Frank and Maude (Fenimore) Lister.  She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1943, and received a Home Economics degree in 1947 from Iowa State University.

On August 18, 1947, Dee and James G. Lott were united in marriage at Boone, Iowa.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and loyal supporter of Dr. Lott''s medical practices in Clarion, Iowa (1952 to 1982) and Manson, Iowa (1982 to 1986).  Dee and Dr. Lott resided in Ames, Iowa from 1987 to 1997.  In later years, Dee lived in Denver, Colorado before returning to Ames.

Dee was a member of the American Association of University Women, Delta Delta Delta Sorority, and the United Methodist Church.  The pleasures of Dee''s life included flowers and gardening, pets, reading, traveling, and being a caregiver to both friends and family.

Dee is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Osborn of Arvada, Colorado, and Linda Smith and her husband Steve of Marcus, Iowa; two grandchildren Jenn Hoesing and her husband Pete of Tallahassee, Florida, Chris Smith and his wife Nina of New York, New York.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and two sisters.
