The Life of LOIS M NYSTROM
Lois M. Nystrom, 83, died sunday, April 9, 2006, at CLC of Polk City, Iwoa. Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at Iles Funeral Homes - Westover Chapel, located at 6337 Hickman Road, in Des Moines. A memorial service to honor Lois'' life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church, of which she was a member. Private committal services will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Lois was born January 20, 1923, in Perry, Iowa, to Warren and Mabel Ballentine Daniels. Lois married Bernard E. "Bernie" Nystrom on June 20, 1948. She graduated from the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and loved her career as an Operating Room Nurse. Upon retirement, Lois and Bernie spent their summers at their cabin in Minnesota. She loved her family and friends, and was a very competitive fisherman and card player. Lois will be missed by all whose lives she touched and by all of her old fishing buddies.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Bernie Nystrom of Des Moines; daughter, Diane (Brian) Quirk of Dawson, IA; son, Eric (Kim) Nystrom of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Lowell, Don and Ed Daniels. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bob Daniels; and best friends, Jane Russell and Euleta Popp.
