The Life of DELBERT JAMES ESSEX
Delbert Essex, 65, passed away at his home August 6, 2003. Del had served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired Supervisor of a group home in Pasadena, CA. After retirement, he devoted his time and energy to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Kay Essex and his five children: son, Arnold of Des Moines and grandchildren, Shawn Michael and Kena Kay; daughter, Janice Fergison of Altoona and grandchildren Fona Kay, Michael and Christeena; daughter, Judith Ann Schoby of Des Moines and grandchildren, Holly Jo and Cody; son, Del Essex Jr. of Des Moines and granddaughter, Elicia Kay; and daughter Kimberly Kay Miller of Las Vegas, NV and grandchildren, Courtney Kay and Casey. Also surviving are one brother, Ed of Lancaster, CA; eleven great-grandchildren; three sons-in-law, Larry, Jack and Jeff; and one daughter-in-law, Dori.
Friends may call Friday evening, August 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton''s Funeral Home on Lyon Street. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
