The Life of GERALD EVERETT CORBIN
Jerry Corbin, 73, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009, surrounded by his family, at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
Jerry was a lifelong Des Moines resident and had worked at Ryko Manufacturing, Massey Ferguson, Ford Motor Company and in the construction industry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and sports, especially anything Iowa Hawkeyes, but his passion was his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eunice, his children, Jerry (Rita) Corbin of Urbandale, Jim (Sonia) Corbin of San Diego, CA and Cindy (Andy) Harvey of Des Moines; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren (plus one on the way), and his siblings, George (Jean) Corbin, Lorraine Lewis, Roy Corbin, Shirley Lewis, Donnie (Jerilynn) Corbin, Phyllis Corbin and Marilyn Schultz.
He was preceded in death by parents, George and Julia Corbin and his brothers, Norman and Walter.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm Friday at Iles Funeral Homes-Grandview Park Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday, October 10, at Grandview Park Chapel, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
