The Life of IDELLES A JOHNSON

Idelles Johnson, 63, went home to our Lord on February 21, 2010, after her battle with Alzheimer's. She was born on June 17, 1946 to Elmer and Clara Richardson of Slater. She graduated from Ballard- Huxley High School in 1964. She worked at the downtown Younkers Beauty Salon as a beautician until raising her family became priority. Her hobbies included cooking, baking, gardening, sewing and crafts, bowling, and participating in numerous church activities. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gene Johnson. They have three children, Christina (Shawn) Hauger of Polk City, Derek (Adrianne) Johnson of Ankeny, and Kyle Johnson of Ankeny; and five grandchildren, Grant, Alex, Kaitlyn, Cole, and Lacie. She is also survived by one brother, Don Richardson of Urbandale. She was preceded in death by her parents. A special thanks to: Dr. David Michael, New Horizon Adult Center, Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Hospice of Central Iowa. Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 914 NW Ash, Ankeny, burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
