The Life of BENNY LOUIS PALMER
Benny L. Palmer, 82, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Senior Suites of Urbandale. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Benny was born November 29, 1928, to Jeffrey and Lelah Palmer in Grandfield, Oklahoma. He served in the Air Force, and retired as an electrician from Firestone Tire after 22 years of service.
Benny is survived by his children, L. Bruce Palmer and Marilyn (Tim) Sampson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Henry Palmer of Oklahoma; sister, Freida Duncan of Arkansas; close friend, Sue Lovelady; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; six brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Benny.
