The Life of ROBERT VERNON MCLAUGHLIN
Robert V. McLaughlin, 71, of 708 E. Senaca Ave. died of a liver ailment Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Grandview Funeral Home.
Mr. McLaughlin was a lifelong Des Moines resident and retired as a social worker for the Des Moines public schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II and had been amember of the Iowa Softball Hall of Fame.
Among survivors are his wife, Yvonne; and three daughters, Vicki Shiels of Ankeny, Wendy Breaux of Des Moines and Bonnie Kolkmeier of Houston.
