The Life of RONALD LEWIS REES
Ronald L. Rees, 77, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, from cancer, surrounded by his family. Ronald was born on January 19, 1932, in Des Moines to Lewis and Alice Rees. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Ronald especially loved spending time with his family. Ronald is survived by his son, Craig (Michelle) Rees; daughter, Debra (Michael) Robinson; granddaughters, Krysta Rees (Kenny Houser), Kim (Dustin) Wipf; great-grandson, Kaden Wipf; step granddaughter, Cherie (Kevin) Huffman; sister, Karen (Peter) DePhillips; niece, Shellie DePhillips; nephew, Mark (Cheryl) DePhillips; great-niece, Mackenzie DePhillips; great-nephew, Blake DePhillips and many beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Alice Rees; and son, Kirk Rees. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Ronald.
