The Life of ELAINE VIRGINIA GRAVANDER
Elaine V. Gravander, 89, died Friday, October 23, 2009, at the Fountain West Care Center in West Des Moines. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m, Monday, October 26, 2009, at Plymouth Congregational Church.
Elaine was born in Atlantic City, NJ and lived in Northfield, NJ most of her life. She moved to Des Moines in 1992. Elaine was an Activities Director for Golden Crest Nursing Home in Atlantic City until 1985. Memberships include First Baptist Church of Atlantic City, where she was a Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher; and Women's Auxiliary of the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.
Survivors include her son, Carl R. Gravander, Jr. of Des Moines. Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Gravander, Sr. in 1994.
