The Life of DOLORES ANN DAVIS
Dolores (Dee) A. Davis, 83, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. She was born July 15, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John and Loretta (Eaton) Galleger.
Dolores was a devout Catholic. She was a softball coach for many years and enjoyed going canoeing with her friend, Mary. Dolores loved cats, swimming, playing golf and tennis, and reading.
She is survived by her son, Dennis L. Davis; daughter, Gerri L. Davis; granddaughter, Melissa S. Davis; grandson, Brian K. Davis; great-grandson, Kolby R. Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cletus Galleger; husband, Torcie Merlin Davis; and daughter, Phyllis A. Davis.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2926 Beaver Avenue, with burial following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a rosary service at 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, at the funeral home.
