The Life of ROGER A MCKINNEY
Roger A. McKinney, passed away peacefully June 6, 2007 surrounded by his family at Taylor House after a courageous one year battle with lung cancer. Roger was born May 21, 1941 to Lester and Georgene McKinney in Des Moines, IA. He was an electrician and a member of Local #347 for 35 years. He was a member of Highland Park Christian Church. He loved sprint car races, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved his family and friends and was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon of 45 years, his children Cindy (Tim) Stoll, Todd (Shelly) McKinney, grandchildren Kara and Kalvin Johnson, Keaton McKinney, Baylee and Dalton Stoll, and sister-in-law Judy Shaw. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 4-7:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Taylor House.
