The Life of MAX MERRILL EKLUND
Max Eklund, 79, completed his journey here on Earth on the 15th of March, 2010. Those who are celebrating his life as well as mourning his passing include his loving wife of 56 years, Beverly “Peg” Eklund; his daughter, Becky and her husband, Tim Phillips of Plano, TX; his son, David and Tamara Eklund of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Jared and his wife, Laura Eklund of Cedar Rapids, IA; Justine and husband, Tony Orf of Dallas, TX; Amanda and husband, Don Denniston of Des Moines; IA; Boomer Phillips of Denton, TX; and Kyle Eklund of Des Moines, IA; great-grandson, Max M. Eklund, son of Jared and Laura of Cedar Rapids, IA; sister, Barbara Fleming of Denver, CO; and many nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.
Max was born in Des Moines, August 16, 1930 and graduated from North High School in 1948. He married Beverly Covault in 1954. Max retired from Meredith Corporation and was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Urbandale.
Memorial Services will be held 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2010 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. A visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Federation in loving memory of Max.
