The Life of CLARA IRENE ROBERTS

~ CLARA IRENE {MOORE} ROBERTS ~ aged 108 years ~ died September 1, 2009, at Fountain West Health Care Center.
~ A MEMORIAL SERVICE~ will be held 12:30 p.m., Sunday, September 6, 2009, at West Des Moines Christian Church, with Dr. Randy Ehrhardt officiating.
~ BURIAL~ will be at HIGHLAND MEMORY GARDENS, in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, at a later date.
~ CLARA~ was born on October 14, 1900, on a farm near Bagley, Iowa, to parents ~ William and Laura MOORE.
~ CLARA- graduated from Iowa State University in 1922 with a degree in Education and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority.
~ The first VEISHEA celebration at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, occurred during CLARA'S senior year and she was named one of the VEISHEA queens.
~ After graduation CLARA taught Home Economics at Bagley High School.
~ CLARA~ married FRANK H. ROBERTS, on July 23, 1923 in Rockwell City, Calhoun County, Iowa.
~CLARA~ and Frank settled in Des Moines where they raised two children- Clara was active in West Des Moines Christian Church and served as an elder.
~CLARA~ was a member of P.E.O, chapter EH.
